Carol Bednarski
Victoria, British Columbia
As an emerging artist on the West Coast of Canada, Carol has quickly made her presence known with her work in international, national and regional exhibitions.
Carol has traveled the world and now lives on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, where she paints full time in her home studio in Victoria.
Painting mostly in acrylic and sometime in oils, Carol has her own very unique style. Using brushes, palette knives, scrapers, and at times her fingers she produces loose, bold works characterized always by vivid colour, layers of texture and surprising details.
Carol finds the most joy when painting intuitively. The goal being to connect emotionally with the viewer by staying out of her head, and allowing her heart to lead.

At some point the painting shows me something, the hint of a place, an image, or just a mood. I get a feeling that I react too and that’s when the painting starts to take shape. The rest is a dance between intuition and controlled response.
