This piece was painted in the spring during covid. In looking for calm I was drawn to green, the colour of healing and serenity. There is nothing more beautiful than light and how it can transform everything it touches. I am always drawn to light, but it is the shadows contrast that makes the light dynamic. Using this limited palette I wanted to capture the beauty and subtlety of light and it’s transformative power. I hope this painting elicits some peace and tranquility to the viewer.

"At some point the painting shows me something, the hint of a place, an image, or just a mood. I get a feeling that I react too and that’s when the painting starts to take shape. The rest is a dance between intuition and controlled response."
