This abstract landscape came about quite intuitively as I was laying down colours and shapes. Working with brushes and palette knife; using acrylic, oil pastel and charcoal a vibrant sky took shape. Layers of colours line and textures make up this expression of nature. Every day we witness miracles. The sky lights up with colour and changes second by second. On paper each colour can be captured and held together to tell the story of the miracle of daybreak. Perhaps a painting is an ordinary miracle in itself.

"At some point the painting shows me something, the hint of a place, an image, or just a mood. I get a feeling that I react too and that’s when the painting starts to take shape. The rest is a dance between intuition and controlled response."
