Sometimes when a storm has ended it doesn't always seem that way, nor does it feel like it's over. There can be dark clouds looming that feel threatening. I was in the midst of a storm while painting this and I purposefully painted a bright sky to remind myself that sun is shining behind the clouds and there will be a brighter day. Painted intuitively, in acrylics, with no photo reference, using palette knives and brushes.

"At some point the painting shows me something, the hint of a place, an image, or just a mood. I get a feeling that I react too and that’s when the painting starts to take shape. The rest is a dance between intuition and controlled response."
