I remember walking in dewy fields just before dark when I was a child. Maybe we were camping or out late visiting relatives. Those times were full of magic and everything was transformed. There was a surreal-ness about it that made everything extra beautiful. But what I felt inside was excitement and joy just being alone in the world and experiencing the wonder of being. This painting give me that same feeling.

"At some point the painting shows me something, the hint of a place, an image, or just a mood. I get a feeling that I react too and that’s when the painting starts to take shape. The rest is a dance between intuition and controlled response."
