Strange Fossil is an abstract composition featuring an irregularly shaped stone formation that balances natural forms with inorganic ones and the interplay of impermanence and permanence. The disproportionately large top stone is a cyanotype solar print of dried Hosta leaves on teabag paper, lending the piece a distinctive and elegant aesthetic. It rests delicately on other stones also with cyanotype imprints on collage papers, enriched with layers of acrylic paint. This combination of natural elements and abstract creativity result in a visually striking piece through bold use of negative space. The interplay between the substantial top element and the smaller supporting forms creates visual tension, evoking ancient standing stones while presenting botanical impressions preserved like mysterious fossils.
