The brilliant colours of the boreal forest frame the distant rock and wood pile of the busy beaver dam. I have many strong emotions and memories associated with this place. The thrill (and danger) of standing in the rushing water to clear the accumulated mess of rocks and mud and logs so carefully packed together by those pesky beavers. Alas their travails resulted in eroding lake banks.
