About the Artwork

“Step by step, we make our way.” — Proverb
Sometimes the process of creation mirrors the process of life; we choose to trust rather than control, and allow emergence rather than following a set plan. Built through collage, sanding, and gestural mark-making, this piece (companion to “Feeling for Stones”), shifted like currents, creating eddies of contrast between depth and openness. What appeared was not a fixed image but the sensation of being mid-journey, suspended between one shore and the other.
The surface evokes water in flux, restless yet directional. Marks feel like tentative steps, testing unseen ground, holding both uncertainty
