At the Flower Shop emerged from a process of intuitive painting, starting with large gestural movements with pencil and other mark-making tools on Acrylic Paper. Through a sense and response process, I added paint and collage without particular intent, until at some point, the bottom flower pot shape "painted itself". Once the painting told me what it wanted to be, I teased the rest of the piece into view, with many layers of collage and paint.
