Portrait of a Lady
This painting is part of my current exploration of the portrayal of female beauty in portraiture. My model is unquestionably contemporary but I’ve placed her in a pose, and painted her in a manner, that recall portraits from a previous century. I invite the viewer to reflect on our concept of femininity and question whether it has changed throughout history.
