Meghan Sharir is an artist who draws from her own life and travels to capture and communicate moments of whimsy, quiet beauty and quirky humanity. A realist, working primarily in oil, she is most interested in the human form; even her landscapes usually contain figures. She is passionate about portraiture, inspired by the challenge of translating an individual’s unique expression and the intimacy this creates for the artist and viewer. She sees painting as a form of “slow food” for the eyes and hopes to catch your attention for a moment and show you something you may not have noticed otherwise. Meghan loves to travel and takes resource photographs wherever she goes, looking for looking for beauty in the everyday.
