After an intense summer storm in the Rockies, the meadows exploded with sound and colour. Water flowed and dripped everywhere, and the birds came out singing from their shelters. The bruised sky moved into the distance. We shook out our tarp and jackets, and waited for the sun to warm and dry us after the storm.

Karen works with acrylics and oils to evoke the colors, textures, shapes, and moods of natural subjects. She conveys the essence of light and colour using an impressionist-influenced realism style. "Art offers a unique opportunity to enter a calm, contemplative space which harmonizes life’s dissonances. I hope that you find renewal, optimism and possibility in my art."
