About the Artwork

I’m always grateful to spend time in the Illecillewaet area of Glacier National Park. Glaciers, peaks and sky as far as the eye can see and all the vertical my heart desires. A hot and smokey hike to the Asulkan Hut led us along the river- nothing better for tired feet than a dip in glacial waters.

Karen Sheehan

North Vancouver, British Columbia

Karen works with acrylics and oils to evoke the colors, textures, shapes, and moods of natural subjects. She conveys the essence of light and colour using an impressionist-influenced realism style. Exploring nature provides Karen with inspiration and a desire to share the renewal and wonder experienced in these settings.

"Art offers a unique opportunity to enter a calm, contemplative space which harmonizes life’s dissonances. I hope that you find renewal, optimism and possibility in my art."
