About the Artwork

A large male cougar rest against a fallen limb. The views from the many vistas in the area I live beg to be painted every time I see one. I particularly liked the rolling hills and layers of texture from the dry grass to the arid hillside of pine and scrub to the far mountains of fir, pine and larch. The moody sky adds a bit of drama to the otherwise serenity of the image.

Joie Paré AFC

Westbridge, British Columbia

Joie paints wildlife in acrylic on canvas with detailed realism. Focusing on Canadian landscapes and animals.

"I love to capture the serenity of nature. So the viewer can feel the emotions of places less seen in everyday life. Whether it’s a tenacious grizzly chasing salmon, or a lounging deer in a cool shadowy forest. I want people to feel what I do when I paint."
