The movement and textures in this scene is what inspired me to paint it. I lived the shiny slippery look of the bull kelp, the roughness of the rock, the smoothness of the log and the dryness of the sand completes the “texture wheel”. The tiny crab hiding from the sandpiper adds a bit of a surprise discovery for the viewer and a bit more of a story.

"I love to capture the serenity of nature. So the viewer can feel the emotions of places less seen in everyday life. Whether it’s a tenacious grizzly chasing salmon, or a lounging deer in a cool shadowy forest. I want people to feel what I do when I paint."
