About the Artwork
"12 Mile Coulee", an oil on canvas painting, honours a prairie ravine in this Calgary AB city park. Cut through the native sandstone, the coulee shelters diverse wildlife in the middle of the city. Moose, deer, and coyotes can be found here. Sheltered from the winter sun, snow lies deep in the canyon for months. Spring brings water back to the creek along with mountain bikers and hikers.
