Born in 1960 in Wrocław, Poland, Dorota studied Architecture at Wrocław Polytechnic before immigrating to Canada in 1981. She graduated with Honors from the Architectural Technology Program and went on to complete a Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Toronto in 1989. After several years in commercial design, Dorota accepted a faculty position as Professor of Architecture at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario. Following her retirement in 2018, she settled in Nanoose Bay, British Columbia, where she enjoys the natural beauty of the area along with her passions for creative arts, gardening, golf, and sailing. Dorota has received extensive training in drawing and has studied watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting. Her work reflects a lifelong appreciation for form, light, and atmosphere. She finds joy in creating pieces that capture reflective beauty and bring color and warmth into people’s lives.
