During my evening walks I often sketch the remarkable firs in my small field sketchbook. I am familiar with many of them as I play golf often. So many trees, especially firs, struggle in the golf course open fields and develop leans and remarkable shapes. Pleased with the sketch and watercolor I had just finished I have turned to capture another nearby. Only plein air allows us to use our vision selectively.
