This fall view of the prominent corner in my neighborhood glared at me suddenly one day last year. I stopped my car and took the shot. I kept gong back to the image over and over and finally set down to try to capture the radiance of the color on these otherwise unnoticeable trees we pass every day in 2022.

Born in Wrocław, Poland, Dorota studied architecture before immigrating to Canada in 1981. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto and later taught at Mohawk College in Hamilton. Now retired in Nanoose Bay, she enjoys painting, gardening, and sailing. Trained in drawing, watercolor, acrylic, and oil, Dorota finds joy in creating works that reflect natural beauty and bring color to life.
