This image was created with a morning coffee when spring sun lit my garden irises in bloom. I have tried to capture the translucency of the delicate petals and a lit brilliance of fresh greenery. Painted plain air in my favorite shade spot beside my basement studio space.

Born in Wrocław, Poland, Dorota studied architecture before immigrating to Canada in 1981. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Toronto and later taught at Mohawk College in Hamilton. Now retired in Nanoose Bay, she enjoys painting, gardening, and sailing. Trained in drawing, watercolor, acrylic, and oil, Dorota finds joy in creating works that reflect natural beauty and bring color to life.
