Janet Strayer
Vancouver, British Columbia
Sensual qualities of colour and gesture mingle with a vibrant imagination to infuse Janet Strayer's Abstract and Representational artworks with intelligent vitality. "My art expresses lyrical and dramatic moments of contact between reality and imagination -- the dynamic reality of both inner and outer worlds." Given her commitment as a university professor of lifespan development and visual artist, Strayer's works often express moments of psychological insight and change. They create open narratives that invite connections beyond initial views. Her art has won awards, been in solo and juried shows, been featured in media, and appears in public and private collections. You are welcome to visit her Saturna Island studio and contact her at info@janetstrayer.com
I seek to express lyrical and dramatic moments of contact and contrast between reality and imagination -- the vitality of being alive to both inner and outer worlds.
