About the Artwork

This unique mixed media artwork (28"x22"x5") seems especially apt for the challenge of "On the Edge" with its mandate to push the envelope. It extends acrylic painting up from the canvas by integrating the intricately patterned 2-dimensional opaque shapes with fire-molded translucent forms-- designed expressly for this purpose (inspired by Dale Chihuly's fantastic blown-glass art) and firmly secured to the canvas. The resulting interplay of transparent and opaque surfaces and of organic and geometric forms expands and further develops the flow of abstract patterns, colours and textures... all together evoking an abundant and exceptional garden.
