About the Artwork

In this ongoing series, an abstracted female portrait of my favorite model, Diana, is rendered in light earthy tones, fragmented, fluid, and emotionally charged. Painted without preliminary sketches, each piece allows the brush to trace every hesitation, sweep, and loss of control. These faces feel intimate and raw, caught in moments of exposure, withdrawal, defiance, or collapse. These works explore how identity is both revealed and obscured through the physical act of painting.

Milena Guberinic

Ridgeway, Ontario

I explore the intersection of memory, identity, and psychological narratives, using nature's unpredictability as a foundation. By balancing chaos and form, I craft abstract, atmospheric compositions that challenge familiar perceptions and invite viewers to reflect on the evolving nature of self and reality.

"For me, painting is a way of holding fragments of self together, even when they don’t quite fit."
