About the Artwork

This painting is one of the results from my two-week journey of artistic exploration with my model, Diana. Each day, I painted her without the use of pencil sketches, instead relying on raw, organic, abstracted shapes of watercolor and water to be my guide. What began as a search for Diana evolved into something much deeper, and through this process, I discovered more than I anticipated.

Milena Guberinic

Ridgeway, Ontario

My work grows out of memory and lived experience. I let the unpredictable side of life (its disruptions, coincidences, and contradictions) become part of the painting process. By balancing chaos with form, I look for the underlying patterns that run through both my own story and the world we share.

"I paint in the space between chaos and structure, trying to uncover what lies beneath the surface of the self."
