This painting is based on my four-week expedition to the Antarctic continent, where I served as an artist-in-residence aboard an expedition ship. It was one of the true highlights of my painting career—to create art on location in one of the most remote and awe-inspiring places on Earth. Surrounded by towering mountains, sculptural ice formations, and extraordinary wildlife, I found endless inspiration in the raw, uncharted beauty of the landscape.
