I wanted to create the effect of a tidal pool inside a foot print. To do this, I made a plaster cast of my foot and then painted into it. This painting speaks to the relational connective energy of life below the feet. Our presence is known as we become part of any landscape we enter. A chance encounter quickly changes into relational event: everything is connected and affective, an aspect of decolonization. Impermanence/permanence and imprinting arise as themes. Highlights on the footprint enhance the effect of water.
