In the summer of 2023, I had the good fortune to accompany my sister-in-law on a trip to the Yukon. I am certain anyone who has made this journey or seen photographs knows that scenery abounds and the difficulty lies in choosing where to spend your time exploring. Fortunately for me I had the pleasure of staying with a longtime friend and Whitehorse resident who couldn’t wait to share her beautiful corner of the Yukon. I was drawn to these gorgeous little Siberian asters that had planted themselves on the seemingly endless sandy shoreline of picturesque Bennett Lake. As I was there helping her change residences, our excursions were treasured and few and I was not disappointed in scenic Bennett Lake. I believe when people share a part of their cherished world with you, they are very generously sharing a piece of themselves.
