About the Artwork

“The Field” is my response to the significant increase in polarisation we are experiencing in our world. This quote by the poet Rumi; “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there”, has always deeply spoken to me and it motivated me to create a piece that would invite a sense of hope, beauty and inspiration; a call towards de-polarisation and dialogue. The presence of the yin/yang acts as a reminder that all things are inter-connected and that opposites create the whole.

‘The Field” is part of my series titled “Love Always Falls Back On Its Feet”. In each painting I deconstruct the word L-O-V-E into lines and circles in various configurations. Yet, as the “E” of love lands at the bottom right of each painting, with constancy and stability, it reminds us that “love prevails”, making this series a positive response to our challenging times.
