About the Artwork

This handsome 21 yr old silverback Lowland Gorilla is named Kwame ( which means born in November). He contemplates life at Seattle Zoo. Gorilla are very intelligent and live in a social environment. They are presently a very endangered species. Like all of the apes they are also in danger of catching the covid virus.

Julie-Ann Miller has been a portrait and figurative artist in Penticton since 2007. She is an active juried member of the CFA-SOS Chapter showing her work throughout British Columbia as well as other community events. She owned Front Street Gallery for over 6 years painting the lovely Okanagan.
