Julie-Ann Miller

Penticton, British Columbia

An active juried member of the Canadian Federation of Artist – South Similkameen (FCA-SOS) Chapter since 2008, Julie-Ann enjoys the rich subject matter of the sunny Okanagan. After a career working in Human Services she moved her passion to painting. Primarily a figurative artist she has captured many subjects that are evocative, emotional and beautiful.
Julie-Ann has taken continuous learning in art from Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and from numerous well-known artists in Canada. Julie-Ann has been in at least 4 shows a year and various community events. As an owner of a popular gallery for 6yrs she successfully sold works in acrylic, watercolor and mixed media and promoted the works of emerging and local artists.
Inspired by everyday life I try to translate it into a wordless interaction with the viewer. I get the most pleasure out of painting when I can capture a moment of emotion like a sunset, an expression or a tender moment with a person or animal.
