"Loose Change" is my newest painting in my currency collection. Currency is tactile especially coins, they are round, smooth, etched, heavy, light, big, small with each so recognizable around ones country and even the world.
Our Canadian coins hold history, devotion, memories, hopes and even wishes. Just a simple round shape feels like home. Remember: A penny for your thoughts? A dime a dozen? Penny candy? or our iconic loved Loonie?
Each of these 7 coins are painted on round canvases, sizes from 8",10", 12" and 14" diameter with Velcro fasteners to entice the collector to mount them on the 38" x 38" Velsro wrapped substrate to experiment on this changeable display.
Like putting your hand in a pocket and pulling out your "Loose Change" you never know what you'll get.
