About the Artwork

The 3rd in my on-going currency series, "Birthday Money, 1867" was created to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday. As our notes go out of production, I did not want to lose theses iconic images, the beauty, the history with them growing up. As with all my currency paintings, I created 'Notes of Interest' info cards, detailing some interesting money facts. For example the $50. banknote from 1969 "Scenes of Canada" series, showcases the iconic RCMP Musical Ride, which was the 1st to boost full color lithography, making it one of the most popular collectable banknotes.
As an added challenge for myself,
