A view of the Kurimoto Japanese Gardens at the University of Alberta Botanical Gardens, outside Edmonton, Alberta.
This is an incredible 5 acre Kaiyou (strolling garden) serene location. The design is authentically Japanese but utilizes plant species that are hardy to our northern climate. Ornaments and structures include lanterns, pagoda's, entrance gate, belfry and azumaya (viewing shelters), along with the Ozawa Pavilion Teahouse.
Opened in 1990, the garden is named after Dr. Yuichi Kurimoto, the first Japanese national to graduate from the U of A faculty of the Arts in 1930.
A treasure to view, for your whole mind, body and soul.
