About the Artwork

As an artist, the essence of color deeply resonates with my creative spirit. In the societal landscape of North America, the hue of pink has been assigned the role of representing 'femininity' and the conventional roles traditionally tied to it. It seemed an unspoken rule that pink was for 'girls' only'.
Identifying as a feminist, I've challenged the preconceived standards imposed on how women should behave or feel. In that spirit, I consciously distanced myself from the color pink, which to me echoed the weight of gendered expectations.
This triptych is a narrative of reclaiming pink on my own terms.

“I feel that creating art is an act that invites the artist and the viewer to create meaning and story within themselves. I hope my art brings some enjoyment, curiosity and/or possibly eliciting the viewer to feel emotions and create a personal story about the image."

"Always inspired by Nature. Always experimenting. Creating art always lifts my soul."
