This painting captures the fleeting beauty of late autumn in the Glennallen Mountains of Alaska, where the Matanuska River winds through a vast wilderness on the edge of winter. For a brief moment each year, before the long northern winter settles over the landscape, the valley comes alive with an extraordinary display of colour—fiery tundra reds, glowing golden aspens, and the cool blues and violets of distant mountain peaks.

Through this painting, I wanted to celebrate one of nature's most fleeting transitions—a moment when the Alaskan wilderness burns with colour before quietly surrendering to snow and silence.
