About the Artwork

This original painting is inspired by my hike into the Ramparts Range, a dramatic chain of peaks straddling the Continental Divide in Jasper National Park. The striking contrast between the rugged, jagged summits and the soft green meadows and lakes below creates an unforgettable alpine vista.

What drew me most was this balance—calm, expansive foregrounds set against the powerful rhythm of the mountains above. This piece captures that moment where serenity meets the raw energy of the high alpine landscape.
