This painting was inspired by one of my favorite daily walks with my Boston Terrier, Guinness. Living on Vancouver Island offers the privilege of being immersed in nature nearly every day. As I hike through nearby forests and parks, I witness familiar landscapes transformed by the shifting light and changing seasons. Over time, this repeated observation deepens my connection to the land and allows me to explore a more nuanced and personal approach to painting. The work reflects not only the beauty of the place but also the quiet rhythm of return—where memory, movement, and presence shape the creative process.
