About the Artwork
The form of this piece sat in my head for nearly ten years before I found the stone and had the opportunity to render it. I wanted it to convey a sense of movement in stillness and chose an alabaster stone for its translucent qualities when thinly cut. The light plays through the stone as much as it plays over and around it.
