This painting is part of a series I started working on back in 2008 when development started to encroach on the local waterways I used to frequent with my children. Campbell Valley, located on the Surrey/Langley boarder, has in the last 25 years under gone extensive redevelopment including the elimination of acres of forest and extensive industrial development resulting in the threat to salmon habitat in the little Campbell River. My daughters have witnessed the profound changes on the landscape as the city has succumbed to the pressure for industrial land.
