Scale and distance…
These are two things that always capture my awe when I’m in the remote mountainous tracks of wilderness on Vancouver Island. When I started my work on this piece it was what I wanted to try capture and share; the grand scale of the high country in Strathcona Park. How even though it was over 10km away, the mountain "Nine Peaks" seems to tower above me and that I was the so alone it felt that I was the only person left on the face of the Earth. I wanted share that sense of scale and solitude.
