Having strong connections to farming and the earth since birth, her day-to-day life, spirituality and art are closely interwoven. As a passionate gardener and artist, both activities spark creativity, evoke intimacy, and serve as rich inspiration for the other. In the garden, each tiny seed or plant is lovingly coaxed and nurtured, enjoyed and appreciated to the fullest. In the studio, plant and farm life is joyfully re-created on the canvas, each chosen subject more closely explored.
Judy Leila Schafers lives on a busy grain farm west of Edmonton, Alberta, where she owns and operates her studio/gallery and hosts well attended art events. She has won numerous art awards and her work is held in private collections on several continents.
