Marilyn Hunt was born in Pouce Coupe, B.C. (1956). Being surrounded with creative expression, fine craft and fine art in her youth was the perfect bedding ground for the growth of her artistic nature and passion for painting. Marilyn paints in vivid colour, often large scale, striving to move the viewer to stop and listen to the booming silence of life. Drawn to the small and often un-noticed details of nature, Marilyn seeks to express the human characteristics seen in nature of struggle, persistence, joy and victory. Marilyn paints primarily in acrylic but an on-going curiosity for mediums and texture, produces many works in oil, wax, and found objects. Marilyn is constantly seeking new ways of creating texture.
When asked about my work i describe it as "painting myself out of myself". My canvas becomes my diary.
