About the Artwork

Thinking of spring
My studio is an historic log barn. We moved it from the tiny settlement of Esmond in Newfoundout to our land, in 1984. Besides being a cattle and hay storage barn for over 100 years, it has served us as a woodworking shop, a garage, and since 2003 as my studio/gallery. There is wonderful history in every barn, the stories they could tell! I am inspired to paint here every day. I am a link in a continuum of living history. This painting was done in March, en pien air, on a lovely day I was moved to step outside and share my thanks for a wonderful winter of working inside.
