Elegant and timeless, lilies symbolize purity, renewal, love and the soul’s journey. Lilies symbolize life’s most profound themes. Lilies hold many meanings at once, yet remain quiet, elegant, and enduring.
Across cultures and centuries, lilies have carried spiritual weight. They can signify love that is steady and devoted, but they also evoke the mysteries of the soul—hope, peace, and the continuity of life beyond what is visible. lilies feel timeless—inviting contemplation rather than spectacle.
Artistically, I’m drawn to the lily’s clarity of form and its layered symbolism. I want my work to feel like a lily: luminous without excess, precise without rigidity, and open enough to hold both tenderness and transcendence. Through line, light, and restraint, I explore how purity can coexist with complexity, how love can be enduring, and how renewal can be both seasonal and deeply personal.

Working primarily in oils I paint with loose gestural brushwork on canvas or panel after I have developed value and compositional sketches with pastel, ink and watercolour. Larger paintings are developed in the studio based on site work.
"Much of my inspiration is found in nature where I seek out the silence sitting by the lake at first light, watching the sun rise, and the mist slowly clear. Many of my pieces are painted on location. Painting at low light under an immense ever changing sky is glorious."
