About the Artwork
My Nova Scotia painting trip in June is chronicled in 10 plein air sketches. Del Haven Wharf is in a small inlet in Minas Basin on Cape Blomidon. I was following in the footsteps of my dad Maurice Haycock who often painted in the area of nearby Wolfville, his birthplace. Tides here are the greatest in the world. Boats at rest on the dry clay bottom literally come to life when the tide races in - which happened after I completed this piece.
