About the Artwork

Events this past year has brought man’s inhumanity towards each other into focus for me. The mass graves of children in this country have finally been brought to light and one wonders what a mind has to say to itself to make this behaviour acceptable. Sadly we have done this forever and are still doing it today. One example: you only have to listen to the language some people use when talking about homeless encampments or the addicted. I caution myself about my own speech because I believe change happens one person at a time.

Jeanette Orydzuk

Prince George, British Columbia

Jeanette uses her art to understand who she is and her place in the world. She works mostly from memory and imagination to acheive the feeling tone of an image rather than a realistic one.

"I allow myself to be versatile with media and styles because it helps me feel alive while creating and opens me up to new ideas for more work."
