This is based on a photograph I took while kayaking on Lake Lillian, a small lake near Invermere, B.C. I loved the drama in the sharp values against the flowy lines of water. It is more literal than I usually paint - hardly abstracted at all. I think it's a good fit for this exhibition because of the nature of it - Artists' Choice. I chose this one because I feel it stretched me as an artist. It was a challenge to stick with the photo and not wander off as I usually do.
