A set of Gustav Klimt inspired stencils got the ball rolling on this mixed media piece. KIimt was a genius at using detailed small shapes to fill in larger spaces and I've tried to do that too. Layers upon layers of pastes, papers, chalk pastels, inks and ink pencils build up depth and interest. And some washi tape highlights the crisp design of lights and darks.
