About the Artwork

“Journey’s End, West Coast Trail.” Pachena Bay, Pacific Rim National Park, Vancouver Island. Plein Air Watercolour.

I painted this at the Federation plein air painting Retreat in Bamfield on Vancouver Island, hosted by the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, in September 2024.

We saw several people coming off the West Coast Trail right at this spot, after hiking for 6-8 days. Including a couple celebrating their 30th anniversary.
