Meandering along the beach listening to the gentle lapping of the waves against the coastline is one of the most peaceful ways for a person to spend an afternoon. Walking barefoot over the sun-warmed rocks and then wading in the cool waters creates a relaxing sense of harmony with nature. As one ventures off the beach on to the outcroppings of rocks, lightly salted air swirls around, tousling hair and creating playful gusts of wind that grab at clothing and ripple the glassy surface of the sea. Being caught mid-gust is often a surprise, leading to a moment of unexpected laughter as the wind gathers up clothing and dusts the rocks with a fine mist of ocean water. After the wind dies down, there is a moment of calm before the next rush of wind comes racing around the nooks and crannies of the shoreline – a chance to catch one’s breath and prepare for the next burst of wind!
